GS was charged with Affray after a night out in town resulted in a scuffle outside a popular fast food outlet. Three co-defendants had already pleaded guilty and been sentenced, two of them to Suspended Sentence Supervision Orders. Whilst anxious to prove his innocence the Client was equally concerned about the potential impact a conviction would have on his future career plans. One of our in house Barristers represented GS at trial and argued that his actions on the night were to be viewed separately from those of the others and as such were not likely to have made any person of reasonable firmness fear for their personal safety. The representations of our Barrister resulted in the defendant being found not guilty and was fully acquitted. This preserved the client’s unblemished record ensuring that he could continue with his undergraduate studies with a view to qualifying as a teacher.
